Russia’s econ min offers to switch to free-floating ruble later
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Switching to the free-floating ruble can be postponed, Russia’s Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said late Tuesday.
“I would discuss the possibility of imposing some restrictions on the exchange rate formation depending on a number of factors linked with the financial stability… I would also discuss the possibility of shifting the time horizon, maybe this can be postponed,” Ulyukayev told reporters.
He said that this is his own opinion based on the current conditions, which require a different approach to the introduction of targeting inflation and the free-floating ruble.
